SPOUSAL AND COMMON-LAW PARTNER SPONSORSHIP
Canadian citizens and permanent residents over 18 years old can sponsor their spouse or common-law partner for permanent residence if they meet the eligibility criteria.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Married couples and common-law partners. Under Canadian law, a common-law couple is one who has lived together for at least one year in a conjugal relationship. Contact us before you have lived together for one year to get a head start on the process.
WHERE CAN WE APPLY?
Couples can apply either in Canada or outside of Canada depending on several factors.
OPEN WORK PERMIT
Sponsored spouses who are residing in Canada may also qualify for an open work permit during the application process if they meet specific requirements.
